Traditional ink sticks factory





















 The traditional ink sticks for calligraphy and chinese painting, are handmade from a big black paste, softened first with foot and later by hands and weighted. When the paste reach the  right softness workin by hands, the small roll is inserted in a wooden mould and pressed. When extracted is still soft and is finished with scissors. The mould impress the factory design and marks on it. This factory is very ancient and is located in Nara, is called Boku-Undo.
